“To Infinity and Beyond”
Disney Movie Toy Story
The Space Shuttle must accelerate from zero to 17,000 miles per hour in 8.5 minutes. That is over 4 million pounds that must be launched from pad to orbit above the Earth in the time it takes you to make a cup of coffee. The G-forces that are created top out at around 3 times the force of gravity, or 3 Gs. The shuttle astronauts throttle back during liftoff to keep the G-Forces below 3 Gs to minimize stress on the ship. The astronauts handle these G-forces by lying on their backs. After acceleration has stopped, even at 17,000 miles per hour, it feels like weightlessness. There is no G-force when there is no acceleration.
Acceleration! It is the rally cry in many churches these days. We keep hearing how God wants to accelerate us to new levels very quickly. Acceleration brings G-force, and to withstand that, we will need a spacesuit to combat the G-forces that come against us.
Joseph was accelerated. He went from being a prisoner in a jail to second in command under the Pharaoh in less than a day. But he was no stranger to the “G-forces” that brought him there: betrayed by his family, put in a pit to die, sold as a slave, falsely accused, and thrown in jail. What was his space suit? How did he withstand the ‘G-force’ of his acceleration? It was simply believing and trusting God.
As we trudge through the wilderness that seems endless, waiting for our breakthrough, we are protected from the G-forces of hell by believing and trusting what God has said.
“You intended to harm me, but God intended it all for good.
He brought me to this position so I could save the lives of many people.”
Genesis 50:20 (NLT)
One fateful decision landed me smack in the middle of my own Wilderness…
Though I was obeying God’s voice, I spent the next several years “walking on water,” even though it felt more like I was treading water. A Journey Out of the Wilderness is for people going through a rough time—a Wilderness experience—where you feel as though you are “down for the count” and ready to give up. Wilderness Wanderers feel as though they are doing laps around the mountain, passing the same tree over and over again wondering, “Will this never end?” However, being in the Wilderness will be one of the most transformational times of your life.

Great point.
