“Of all that is written, I love only what a person has written with his own blood.”

Friedrich Nietzsche

“You are a mess!” the holistic doctor lovingly said to me at my appointment. He kept shaking his head because of my weak condition. I was desperate to see him. I had a series of crazy-weird health issues that had plagued me for two months. I had been to three different doctors to figure out what was going on. When I met with the first doctor, they requested that I get some blood work done. I do not like needles and had a bad experience with an IV before, so I usually run the other direction when they want me to do blood work.

But this time I felt like God was strongly saying, “Get the blood work!”

To be honest, my thought was, “Oh no, something is terribly wrong and God wants me to find out about it right away.” (slways the optimist.) To my complete amazement, all my blood work came back, not only good – but great!

You would have thought that would be the end to the health issues, but it continued. Strange and annoying symptoms kept coming. I knew this was a direct attack of the enemy because this was completely out of the ordinary. Every time a new symptom would appear, I felt God saying, “Look at the blood work”. God used the results of the blood work to strengthen my faith and to show me that nothing was wrong and I was in good health.

No matter if the issue is health, or any other contrary circumstance, the lesson is the same for us in the Wilderness season. We need to look at the “Blood Work” – the finished work of Jesus on the cross and His blood that was poured out for us. We can hold up our report of the ‘Blood Work’ that was finished – and say that we have been healed.

Today, as you are hitting one hard circumstance after another, hold up your “Blood Work”, which has been finished on the cross.

Whose report will you believe?

Believe the “Blood Work” report.

“He purchased our freedom with the blood of His Son.”

Eph 1:7b NIV

One fateful decision landed me smack in the middle of my own Wilderness…

Though I was obeying God’s voice, I spent the next several years “walking on water,” even though it felt more like I was treading water. A Journey Out of the Wilderness is for people going through a rough time—a Wilderness experience—where you feel as though you are “down for the count” and ready to give up. Wilderness Wanderers feel as though they are doing laps around the mountain, passing the same tree over and over again wondering, “Will this never end?” However, being in the Wilderness will be one of the most transformational times of your life.
