“I want to be a professional skateboarder”, my younger son said to me the other day. He goes out every night faithfully and practices because he wants to go “pro”. He takes a lot of falls on his skateboard.

One night he hurt his wrist and asked me to pray for him, so I put my hand on his wrist and prayed. I was tired and it was late at night so it was a quick short prayer.

After I got done he looked at me disappointed and said, “That’s all you got mom? Get mad at the devil mom!”

I was taken back for a minute, and then realized he was absolutely right.

We had a speaker come to our church for a conference who was confronted with a similar situation.

She prayed for her son late at night for his high fever to come down. She began to walk down the hallway in her PJs when the Lord accosted her and said, “That’s all you got?” She marched back into the room and proceeded to let the devil have it until he let go of her son!

We have way more power and authority than we even know. Jesus says we can do greater exploits than He did. The enemy wants us to be lulled into a quiet resignation to our particular situation.

We may be tired or distracted or so focused on the situation that we don’t realize the power and authority that Jesus has given us to exercise.

Don’t settle for anything less than perfect health, a great marriage, and financial freedom.

Today give it all you’ve got!
