“Write the book, write the book, write the book”, I kept hearing God tell me. “You have a portal to show up for and if you don’t write the book, you will miss it!”

Well, that was definitely something I didn’t want to miss. I began writing the book about my journey out of a 7-year Wilderness experience. I began writing between 10-12 hours a day as God was downloading the content for the book. He made a point with me to stress coming OUT of the Wilderness and not just being IN the Wilderness. When I finished the book and sent it off to get published, I headed off to the airport to attend a conference in Texas. As I got out of the car at the airport, my husband said, “Oh, by the way, this box came for you”. He went to the back of his car and sliced open the large cardboard box and handed me my first book as he dropped me off curbside. I was shocked. He did not tell me that the books had arrived. I left out of the Long Beach airport and there was heavy construction going on with wooden make-shift corridors and God’s words came back to me so clearly. “You have a portal to show up for and if you don’t write the book, you will miss it.” I was literally going through a physical and spiritual portal as I boarded the plane on that very significant day.

Tears began streaming down my face as I realized that I was coming out of the Wilderness and entering into a whole new season of becoming an author and now CEO of Square Tree Publishing.

It has not been an easy journey, but one that has forever changed my life and shifted the way I view the world. I have a new set of glasses and I see through a completely different lens then I would have even a year ago.

If you are sensing that you need to do something today, whether it is writing a book or starting a business, or following your dream, I’d encourage you to go for it! Some things are time sensitive in God’s kingdom.

You have a portal to show up for and you do not want to miss the open door that God is leading you through!

One fateful decision landed me smack in the middle of my own Wilderness…

Though I was obeying God’s voice, I spent the next several years “walking on water,” even though it felt more like I was treading water. A Journey Out of the Wilderness is for people going through a rough time—a Wilderness experience—where you feel as though you are “down for the count” and ready to give up. Wilderness Wanderers feel as though they are doing laps around the mountain, passing the same tree over and over again wondering, “Will this never end?” However, being in the Wilderness will be one of the most transformational times of your life.
